Please ignore - stupid person in the vacinity

Ok, so forget my plea for help, I was being entirely gormless and have now obviously sorted it out.

Thanks anyway.

Help?!!

I don't want to turn this into a hand holding exercise but can anyone tell me how I add details of my etsy shop to my flickr profile?
I have attempted it yet only managed to add details of my new blog.

And then to confuse matters the flickr guidelines seem to be saying you can't advertise any commercial outlets yet everyone is!
I'm doubly confused!

On a different note Royal Mail have lost a parcel containing work left over from one of the Christmas exhibitions I did.I can't begin to express how much I loathe having to listen to recorded 'advice' when I JUST WANT TO SPEAK TO A PERSON!

Phew!
Got that off my chest anyway.

Bunnies and cats

Just a quick post tonight to say I've done it!

Bunny girl......
and her friend Cat girl are my first listings on Etsy.
Now all I need to do is figure how to get people to go have a look see.
Hope you had a great weekend.

better late than never

As there was a hint of sun today I was able to take the photos of the lovely gifts I was sent at Christmas.I was lucky enough to recieve this wonderful needlecase from hensteeth herself.

Thank you Viv, with wonderful timing you helped me tidy my very messy workbox, I never knew I had so many needles!

And then there is the darling Mr Tweet from Jackie from dogdaisychains.

I love him, thank you too.

I have another sewing acquisition that will shortly be arriving, a wonderful 50's sewing basket from Donna , my birthday present to myself.

So soon I really will have no excuse to improve my sewing skills, except the elusive time but that's always in short supply.

I have oodles of things on my to do list, some in transition, some not even begun.

I've got my etsy shop and the stock to put in it but am delaying actually biting the bullet. Is it as simple as uploading photo's?I keep going to look at other people's shops and they all look like they know what they're doing. There's my website that needs seeing too as well, I paid for it and that's been about it.

It will get done, soon.I've started a new blog too, loveartlovekids which I'm going to use to document the creative work I do with children, which is masses.I need to find some rings I can join for it as I am operating in a vacuum at the moment.Any ideas for where I can join would be much appreciated.

SO many ideas and notions!I don't know whether to be scared or exhilarated.A bit of both really.I started a new job a few weeks ago too, as well as continuing my old one and have started a part time college course so maybe I just need certifying? It certainly sounds mad when you write it all down.

I'm going to take a deep breath and finish this post.

Bye for now

for the love of buttons

To make up for two pictureless posts and because I've been mulling over names for a possible etsy venture I looked for a picture that made me smile.
A little watercolour of a selection of buttons, including the lovely glass orange one on the right.
I can't be the only one who chinks them against my teeth to learn their material?
One of the questions asked for my Chinese interview was 'what little things do you collect?'
And here's the answer.Buttons.
My absolute favourites are mother of pearl, though coloured glass comes a close second.
Etsy or not, that's the question?
PS I've just realised there is a button from the painting in my banner!

little things

As I haven't managed to take my photo's (how long till it's light when I get in from work?) I thought instead I would share a small scrap of interest.

I was contacted recently from the editor of what I take to be a small Chinese magazine. It is called 'little things' and is primarily concerned with beautiful things, be it art/craft, fashion , illustration etc.

They are doing a piece on papier mache and thought I'd fit the bill.
It was lovely to be asked and I'll be in the March issue.Have a look at the link and you'll see it looks rather nice.

I am right at that beginning point, I know you'll know what I mean, when the ideas are almost visible but are just swirling a little too vaguely to be caught.I quite like this stage, just wondering where I'll be taken.I have so many new potentials and now I've stopped worrying about actually selling stuff I can do what I want.

Photos soon

treading water

Firstly, Happy New Year to you all.

Late, I know.
I have been reading your progress with interest, new ideas, directions and inspirations.I have been busy too, though not in a papier mache kind of way.It seems, at the moment, a break is called for.

And so I have been enjoying new things.Knitting, slowly but surely and discovering, after the whole of the craft world has discovered them, japanese sewing books.

Now I've been seeing these books on countless blogs and dismissed them as I find using my sewing machine really difficult. But having seriously drawn a blank after searching for a skirt I liked for at least six months I had a eureka moment.Of course!I would make my own.

So this is the reality, I'm not that good (ok, I'm really bad) at machine sewing and I can't understand japanese.I'm hoping my stubborn learning streak is going to kick in and take away the pain.I have three books arriving any day now and I will look at the pictures so long I will be able to see myself wearing the clothes.I often feel like I've already made things, my visualisation technique is so good.

I also have a lurking desire to learn how to make books.Mooching around, reading bits here and there, you know how it is.I haven't a clue how to do that either.

I also have belated thanks to give for two lovely Christmas gifts I recieved.
I need to take some photos then I'll share.

Sorry for the pictureless post but I had to get rid of the cats, love them though I do
